Terrific innovative cocktails (of course) in a secret speakeasy in the middle of quaint downtown Branford. Served with flair and friendly story sharing about the ingredients and not so simple custom syrups. Lots of fun.

This place was great! Have been trying to try this place for a while and I have to admit it did not disappoint! Staff very friendly, drinks were crafted and definitely stimulate your olfactory senses. The food is very rich In flavor. The wasabi cream dip and chips and the truffle popcorn is a must! Frank our bartender was very friendly and makes great drinks!

Visited 1928 for the second time and was reminded of how impressed I was during my first visit. The ambiance and aesthetic resembles 1920s class and sophistication, an era I’m a huge fan of. The hidden bookcase entrance and password requirement is an impressive detail to immerse visitors and speakeasy newcomers. The drinks were immaculate, the bartenders were professionals and experts at their craft, and the overall hospitality would make any other high-end bar envious. Definitely will be making this one of my top regular spots, especially for dates. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

OVERPRICED, ONE AND DONE! We stopped by this place for a round of drinks. We heard it had a speakeasy vibe. There is a small foyer where you have to knock on the door, and you are asked for a password to gain entry. The inside is spacious and dark. They do not split checks and automatically add tips, which was shady because our server wasn't the friendliest. When a server has to work for tips, you usually get a better experience. When the tip is automatically added, the service is reflective of what we got. Substandard! When we got the bill...OMG. Are you kidding me. I've never been shocked before, and I go to NYC often, who tend to charge on the higher end due to higher rents. With that being said. If you want to take out a small loan to drink, this is the place to go. By the way. One of our friends ordered a green drink that was supposed to glow due to a light on the bottom of the glass. The light wouldn't stick to the glass, and he had to hold onto the drink because it wouldn't sit flush on the table. He said it was completely annoying. Of course, he was charged full price for this 1/2 assed failed effect.
